Treasures

This weekend we took a car ride to the middle of nowhere to see Kasjen’s family. I got to spend some time away with Kasjen’s mom and sister. Every time we leave Waucoma we get treasures. It’s usually fresh garden vegetables, canned salsa and jams, or bent n’ dent groceries, all which are fantastic finds in our household. This trip went slightly different. We got to visit the quilt shop, the coffee shop, the candle warehouse (literally a warehouse) and the BEST goodwill, all in New Hampton. Everything was a little cheaper and a lot more awesome. I ended up with some wonderful goodies thanks to Kasjen’s wonderful mother Jo.

Corncob salt and pepper shakers, an Iowa classic

Adorable gold ornate frame, inside I put (Please remember, Phone, Wallet, Keys, Kisses) It’s in out hallway by the door. I thought about spray painting it but I kinda like the gold.

A buttload of candles, which were my birthday present from Kasjen’s family. The huge warehouse also sells irregular candles on the cheap. It was super great.

Kasjen got this awesome gun crate. On the top it says (Ammunition for Cannon with Explosive Projectiles), which was a steal for $15.

I also got an awesome D.A.R.E. mug and a coozie for a local junkyard.

A very special someone also got a gift from Jo….

My niece got this adorable owl bag. She absolutely loves it. Jo had made it for a project for her website.

Also Mika actually got to play with other dogs, which never ever happens. She seems to more dominating then we ever thought she was.

All-in-all it was a fantastic weekend. Sometimes it’s just great to get away from the grind and ride around in a combine harvester, which I totally did. The air’s just better there, and the treasures are fantastic.
